There are no EU regulations or guidelines for this set of statistics. For this reason, there are no directly comparable statistics internationally.

Comparability over time

In 2016, Statistics Denmark took over responsibility for the statistics from Ankestyrelsen. From 2025 onwards, a distinction is made between the municipality’s original decision date and the final decision date of the case. Caution should therefore be exercised when comparing case processing times before and after 2025. As previous reporting practices did not clearly distinguish between the first and final decision, the reported processing time may in some cases also include time spent on reconsideration by the municipality or Ankestyrelsen and may consequently be overestimated.
