Target 15.c: Combat global poaching and trafficking
Enhance global support for efforts to combat poaching and trafficking of protected species, including by increasing the capacity of local communities to pursue sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Indicators
15.c.1: Illicitly trafficked traded wildlife
Proportion of traded wildlife that was poached or illicitly trafficked
Definition
The indicator shows the share of illegal trade in all trade in wildlife. The share is measured in monetary value of the trade, but is inherently subject to great uncertainty. The UN website on global goals data shows that the share of illegal trade in wildlife amounted to 0.06 percent of all trade in wildlife in Denmark in 2021. Source: Danish figures reported for the Annual Illegal Trade report, CITES. Bemærk, at CITES-data alene vedrører arter, der er omfattet af CITES-konventionen, og således ikke dækker handel med alle vilde dyr og planter.
