User Needs
There is a general political objective of increasing the share of GDP, which is applied for research and development, and in the light of this objective, there is great interest in compiling statistics on research and development. The main users are Ministries, public authorities, business organisations, researchers, private business enterprises and the media. In addition, the European Commission (The statistical office Eurostat) and the OECD are important users.
Data are available for research purposes and include, among other things:
- Total R&D expenditure,
- Gross domestic expenditure on R&D,
- The share of female researchers in all sectors,
- The number of researchers in all sectors,
- Total full-time equivalents (FTEs) across all sectors.
These data are presented both from Denmark and for the other EU countries.
Furthermore, data can be made available to researchers via the Research Service. The Research Service provides data for research, analysis, and advisory tasks for authorised institutions. Access is granted through different schemes, depending on the type of institution and the intended purpose.
User Satisfaction
The ongoing development of the content for the statistics takes place in close dialogue with national stakeholders and within the EU. No systematic knowledge is collected on user satisfaction for these statistics.
Data completeness rate
The statistics comply with the requirements of the EU regulation and adhere to the existing guidelines of the Frascati Manual.
