The figure shows the recorded music sales by distribution format, that is, whether the music was sold as downloads, streaming, or physical media.

This figure shows the development in the number of people attending concerts.

The figure shows the number of concerts distributed by type of concert organizer.

Registered works of music

The figure shows the development in the number of registered musical works where at least one rights holder is a KODA member. KODA manages royalty payments for composers, songwriters, and music publishers in Denmark. Musical works include songs, ringtones, commercial music, background music in films or TV series, as well as music that has never been released.

Music genres listened to by the population

The chart shows who regularly listen to five selected music genres as a share of different age groups. The figures come from the Cultural Habits Survey, in which the population is asked about cultural and leisure activities, including which music genres they listen to regularly. Click ‘In Statbank Denmark…’ below the chart to view figures for additional genres, including electronic music and children’s music.

Frequency of concert attendance

The figure shows how often the population attends classical and contemporary music concerts. The data comes from the Cultural Habits Survey, in which people are asked about their cultural and leisure activities, including questions about concert attendance.
