Statistical legislation

As the national statistical authority of Denmark, Statistics Denmark is obliged to follow a number of laws and regulations.

Statistics Denmark is subject to about 300 EU regulations on statistics. In addition, the Act on Statistics Denmark applies, which among other things describes Statistics Denmark's tasks and the right to collect data for statistics. Moreover, as an administrative authority, Statistics Denmark must follow the rules applicable to administrative authorities.

Statistics Denmark's Data Confidentiality Policy implements current legislation in the field of statistics.
